Norway Royal’s Son Accused in Major Criminal Case
Marius Borg Høiby, the 29-year-old son of Norway’s Crown Princess Mette-Marit, currently faces a total of 40 criminal charges, of which four of the charges relate to rape and violation of a restraining order. While Borg Høiby admits to "reckless behavior" and violation of contact bans against his former partner, he denies the other grave allegations of rape of incapacitated persons and physical abuse of his former girlfriend, Nora Haukland.
The case, which began 17 days ago within a scheduled period of 28 days in Oslo, has seen graphic evidence and recordings of verbal abuse. While Borg Høiby was born into the royal family, he was never officially a member of the Royal House. Should he be found guilty of the grave offenses of rape, Borg Høiby may face at least a 10-year sentence.
